Bejeweled Blitz is a fun game to play on Facebook. Since it’s free and only a one minute strategy game, it’s easy to sneak in a few games – even at work on a break (if your employer hasn’t blocked Facebook yet, that is).

Since you’re competing with your friends each week for a high score, why not get a leg up and learn some Bejeweled Blitz hint, tips and strategies that will help you beat your friends? Here are a few that I like:

1. Move fast. As you make gem swaps, don’t wait to see what happens but instead look to another part of the screen where the current swap won’t affect anything. See if there’s a swap you can make there and then do it as soon as you can. You can sort of split the Bejeweled Blitz board in half or into quadrants and go from one side to the other, planning and making gem swaps. This will keep you moving fast, get you the speed bonus and give you a high score.
2. Multiplier, multiplier, multiplier! When a gem swap explodes 12 gems, you get a multiplier. Multipliers are key to getting a high score. Get them and get them often.
3. You get a power gem when you make a connection of 4 gems at once. These have a 2 cell blast radius. Use them as soon as you get them unless there’s a better move to make.
