Bob the Builder Cake – Can We Bake It? Yes We Can!

Themed birthday parties are a standard part of growing up for most children. Some want a theme with all superheroes so everyone has the chance to dress up as their favorite so you have to build your ideas for the event around that theme. Others are more specific with a certain show or movie in mind. Either way, with the help of the internet and a little creativity, you can find the perfect cake for your occasion. A Bob the Builder cake is one of those themes that are a little more specific. With this show you have different characters all portraying different personalities in different settings. So how would you begin to design a cake?

First decision you need to make is choosing whether you want to use a background or just Bob himself as the cake. If you are looking for a background setting and you want to make the cake yourself then start with the idea of what setting you want Bob and his friends to be in. You can take a standard 9 x 12 baking dish. Bake the cake and start with a green icing on top so as to look like grass. You can add black or brown icing for a dirt pile. Buy a Bob character to place either on the side of the cake or on the cake itself. Purchase a few construction vehicles that are represented in the show and place them in working positions on the top of the cake and before you know it, you have a Bob the Builder cake.

There is always the option of finding a Bob the Builder cake pan that you can cook and decorate yourself. The colors for Bob are mainly primary and with the cake already being formed in his shape, you can basically use the icing as paint and make Bob’s portrait on the cake. This is only recommended if you are fairly confident in your artistic skills. Drawing a character is harder than it looks and you could end up with a very different picture than what you were trying to accomplish.

Making a Bob the Builder cake can be fairly easy or even store bought if you don’t want to attempt it yourself. Either way, your child can have that theme birthday party and a great tasting cake to celebrate their special day.
