Unusually enough for a Tommy Hilfiger perfume, this Dreaming was designed to be a seducing fragrance, although the strong presence of floral notes proves that the creator wanted to be moderate. This perfume is more for daylight seducers than for night souls.
The opening notes are fruity florals, with a mix of different types of jasmines and freesias, plus a sweet peach. This beginning part is very similar to the one in Beautiful perfume by Estee Lauder, another quintessentially feminine fragrance.
In the middle notes the sweet peach hides in the background, remaining strong enough to prevent freesia from fully developing (there are probably other florals too, but the peach makes them hard to define), but not enough to stand out as a distinct note. As a result, the freesia here does not feel so young, nor does it have traces of roses like in Romance perfume by Ralph Lauren, or like in Miracle by Lancome, which are the two perfumes of reference when it comes to pure freesia.
The base notes are still floral, a bit denser. At this point, according to the website, there should be also woody notes, but they’re less distinct than the florals.
Overall, this is a very pleasant and feminine fragrance. It is not overly seducing, and it is more at ease for a daily use than for a night out, more for summer than winter. It can be appropriate in a work environment, as long as it’s not too formal. For a romantic date, it’s feminine and sensual, as a consequence of the sweetness of the fruits and florals, even with a hint of innocence. It’s probably too light for a night use in general, where it would be overshadowed by other with a stronger personality.
The ideal age range would be between 25 and 45, but also younger women, from 20 years old could wear it without any problem.
