The sales of existing homes for all types has reached a pretty noticeable decline of 2.7 percent in August according to a report that came from the National Association of Realtors, a very reputable source. This is definitely shocking as July showed great numbers in the increasing range. In the terms of seasonally adjustable sales rate, July pulled through at 5.27 million where as August declined quite a bit to 5.10 million units. Whereas new home sales rates are quite low, the existing homes rate is still much higher than it was last year in August 2008 so an improvement is still happening. However, median sale prices of single-family homes are still on a decline compared to last year at 177,500 thousand dollars. Either way, the economy is improving little by little and soon enough all home values will be on the rise. Right now, it is just too hard for people to obtain mortgage payments and to get home mortgage loans. Visit Portland Mortgage for some great information on this topic, tips and advice on mortgages.
