See the World Through Rose Colored Contact Lenses

Years ago, telling someone they could change the color of their eye would have probably sent them into a panic. They would be wondering what kind of surgery they would need and what the dangers and risks were. The nice thing is that it’s not nearly that complicated today. All you simply need is to order a pair of colored contacts.

People that already wear contact lenses can easily get colored contact lenses. All they do is order that kind in the color that they want the next time they place their order – as long as their prescription is still good. It must be from within 1 year of the last examination.

People that wear eyeglasses can most likely get fitted for colored contacts. All they would need to do is go to the eye doctor for an exam and then walk out with a prescription for normal contact lenses. With that, they can easily order colored contacts in whatever color or colors that they would like.

If you do not wear contacts now or don’t wear glasses, then you may see certain websites out there and wonder if you can get colored contacts without prescription. From what I’ve seen, it seems some places will try to sell them to you without needing a prescription. And it makes sense that since these are non corrective colored contacts (sometimes referred to as “plano” contact lenses, decorative contacts or else even cosmetic colored contacts), that you would not need a prescription since they don’t do anything for your vision. Why would an exam be needed?

Well, it turns out that since you do put them into your eyes, colored contact lenses are considered to be actual medical devices and you will need to see an optometrist to get a valid prescription for them. They will need to be fitted for your eyes. This is the law. And to be safe, that is what you should do.

Pretty soon, you’ll be enjoying a whole new color for your eyes and it’s much easier now than just a number of years back. Maybe you won’t get rose colored contact lenses but there are a lot of great colors that will go well with your skin tone. Try several colors to see how they look on you.
