The MOLLE system is an acronym for the Modular Lightweight Load Carrying Equipment System that is currently being used by the United States Army. It is a general term used to define the present generation of military backpacks and load bearing equipment used in the military. The MOLLE system’s modular design is based on the use of Pouch Attachment Ladder System or PALS which was invented and developed at the U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center (NATICK) and is a grid of webbing that load bearing equipment have sewn onto them to attach smaller equipment.

Therefore MOLLE compatible accessories can be attached onto load bearing equipment like vests through the rows of webbing sewn into the vest. The webbing itself is a combination of horizontal rows one inch in width spaced one inch apart and alternately re-attached at the backing at one and a half inch intervals. The MOLLE system is comprised of three main components: the fighting load carrier, a hydration bladder and modular pouches. The fighting load carrier is a vest that has a modular belt incorporated into it. The hydration bladder is a 72oz. plastic bladder for direct hydration from the system. Modular pouches of specific needs can be attached to the existing webbing depending on the situation.

This system has now become the standard for use in modular tactical gear and has been adopted by many military and law enforcement agencies. The system was first introduced in 1997 but did not gain in popularity until the September 11 attacks and was subsequently used by soldiers deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. The early generations of the system was criticized because the of the fragility of the plastic frame which broke in the field and the straps of the pack being too short to accommodate full body armor. These problems have since been resolved and new redesigns of the MOLLE system have greater load bearing ability, simpler execution of the modular system and the capacity to hold 81 mm and 60 mm motor rounds.

I just found out about the most amazing invention.  Do you know what it is?  It’s a blackberry car charger!  I can’t believe that such a thing exists, but it’s true.  I know because I saw it on the internet.

I for one, had no idea before reading about this that you could even charge blackberries.  I thought that they just grew.  But I guess that charging them is something that you can do to make the bushes grow faster.  And you can do it in your car if you have a potted blackberry bush.  I wonder if they make strawberry car chargers and blueberry car chargers as well.
