One of the most common reasons people look for repo cars for sale is because they’re usually available at a much lower price than a typical used car. Repossessed cars had been reposed because the owner stopped making payments to the financial institution. Generally financial institutions are in the business of lending money and making investments, they’re not in the cars sales business. So when cars are repossessed they’re typically just sent to auction and sold to the highest bidder. Most of the time the car dealers that buy repo cars are aware of this so they will not bid anything close to what the car is valued at. They know the car is being sold at whatever they offer so generally they high bid is usually pretty low compared to the actual value of the car itself.
