The Aerogarden wasn’t the first system developed to grow plants using a system called hydroponics, but it sure has become one of the most popular. Hydroponics means using water to grow plants in rather than using soil as has been used for millenniums. And, since you control the lighting source for any plants being grown with hydroponics, it can trick the plants into thinking it is their proper season to grow, all year long. Traditionally, some plants could only grow in the spring or fall, but by using a programed microprocessor to deliver the perfect amount of light needed at the right time, then you can achieve amazing plant and vegetable growth all year long. Also, not using soil or dirt, you don’t get the bugs that often come along and ruin your gardens.
